The Finke River Trailhead is the official start point of Section 11. It is located close to the banks of the ancient Finke River. The trailhead has a large modern shelter with good facilities. There is no vehicle access to this trailhead. An alternative start point to Section 11 is Glen Helen Resort which has sealed 2WD access directly from Alice Springs.

Getting to Finke River Trailhead
There is no public vehicle access to the Finke River Trailhead. Access to the trail is from either Glen Helen Resort or the Finke River Two Mile Camping area ( which can be accessed by 4WD only from Namatjira Drive).
