Qantas is the only airline which flies to Alice Springs. Qantas flights to Alice Springs depart regularly from Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Darwin, Adelaide, Perth and Cairns. On average, flights are between 2-3 hrs long, in either the Boeing 717's (pictured above) or Boeing 737-800s. The Alice Springs Airport is about 16kms south of the town. It takes about 10-15 minutes by vehicle to get into the town centre. |

The main road access to Alice Springs is via the North and South Stuart Highway, a well maintained bitumen highway that links Alice Springs to Darwin (North) and Adelaide (South). Alice Springs can also be accessed via 4WD routes such as the Tanami Road ( links to Halls Creek in the Kimberley) and the Great Central Road ( links eventually to Perth). Whichever route is chosen the drive will be long. Darwin to Alice Springs is 1,498km while Adelaide to Alice Springs is 1,531km. |

There is one major rail service to Alice Springs and that is provided by Great Southern Rail via The Ghan . The Ghan is a spectacular transcontinental rail journey through some of Australia's spectacular Central Australian landscapes. Prices vary depending how you want to travel and from where but prices can be anywhere from $200 - $1066 one way from Adelaide to Alice Springs. |

The airport is approximately a 16km drive to Alice Springs CBD. You can either catch a taxi, hire a car or catch the airport shuttle bus. Your accommodation provider may also provide airport picks ups and drops offs. |

This would be a 16km walk mostly along the side of the road. There is no designated footpath, walkway or bike path which leads from the airport to town. |

There is a taxi waiting area just outside the main terminal. Normally there are few taxis outside, but waiting times can vary, especially if it is busy. Alice Springs Taxi's (08 89521877) is the main taxi service provider in town. The average fare is between $25-$32. You can also hire a private taxis. |

There is an airport shuttle service between the airport and Alice Springs. The bus is usually located just outside the baggage claim area at the arrival side of the terminal. Fares start from $15 per person one way, for the first two passengers, and then $10 for each subsequent passenger. |
