The Simpsons Gap Trailhead is the official start point of Section 2. The recently built trailhead (2014) is located approx 400m from the ablution block/main car park area and can be accessed via the Larapinta Trail.. Simpsons Gap is a scenic gorge and waterhole and is popular with visitors to the national park. There is easy 2WD access to the trailhead. |

Getting to Simpson Gap Trailhead |

Access to Simpson Gap is via the sealed Larapinta Drive and can be accessed by conventional 2WD vehicle. Its is approximately 18km west from Alice Springs, and a further 6km off the main road along the sealed Darken Drive.. Simpsons Gap is open to vehicles. |
